Training

Playing forms on the beach Moy Yat Ving Tsun Kung Fu is an efficient and effective close-range fighting system.  One develops health and fitness while also learning valuable self-defense skills.  Because the system does not rely on strength, it is suitable for all individuals regardless of their physcial build.

Training is conducted through forms, two-person drills and conditioning.  Students develop strikes, foot techniques, hand-trapping skills, and simultaneous attack and defense in addition to sensitivity, relaxation, balance, agility, and power.  It takes the average student approximately two years to learn the empty hand forms and drills.  A dedicated student can gain a high degree of competence over this time.

After the two year program a student is prepared for advanced training that includes Muk Yan Jong (“Wooden Dummy”),  Luk Dim Boon Kwan (“Six and a Half Point Pole”), and Bot Chom Do (“Eight Way Chopping Knives”).   muk yan jong training
